The package is designed to charge the internal batteries with a 5 Watt SUNfilm solar charger in less than 3 hours. The Pico lamp also includes a built-in solar controller to ensure that the internal batteries are never over charged. What I like the most about this lamp kit is that everything is plug and play. I just connect the panel wire to the lamp wire and the thing starts charging right away. I had a little trouble getting it to charge my iPhone 3GS that was running iOS 5. But, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and it has no problem charging whatsoever. But, this isn't the only piece of equipment I had this problem with Apple products. Thank you Steve Jobs! If you're running iOS 6 or iOS 4, you'll be fine.

Also nice is the amount of light this thing puts out. It's incredible. Even at the lowest setting, I can fill the whole room enough for multiple people to read. I also use it to light the yard when I let my dogs outside at night. Great product!
