First let me say that finding out Amazon ships most (all that I've searched for) ACDelco parts for free is really great. I'm a GM junkie, and there's a certain satisfaction installing the same stuff that the dealer would on your car.

As far as the sensor kit, it's a factory replacement for your faulty fuel level sensor. If your fuel gauge jumps around erratically, you could likely suspect a failing sensor. The little 'sweep fingers' that rub the resistor on the sensor burn up and stop giving an accurate voltage back to the PCM.

The kit includes two different sensors, for two different sized fuel pump connectors. Attach the float to the sensor with the correct fuel pump connector and it installs easily and quickly. Good stuff, works great.

If you're really bold, you can swap the terminals from your old sensor to the sensor with the wrong fuel pump connector, and suddenly you have a replacement sensor should your new one ever fail down the road. Two sensors for the price of one!
