Prothane 6-307-BL Black Rear Control Arm Bushing Kit Review

I purchased the Prothane bushing kit for my 2001 Ford Focus from Amazon.com to replace the worn out factory bushings. I helped my mechanic on the installation but he did most of it. The bushings did not fit tightly into four of the arms so I spot welded those. I suspect that the arms were the cause of the slip fit and not the bushings as the bushing sizes were consistant in size.

It is quite a job to install the bushings as removing the bolts that hold the arms were a real problem since some broke off . Both of the camber bolts had to be replaced with replacements from Ford.

I thought the bushings were made well and changing out the old ones made a significant difference in the way the car handles. Prior to replacing the bushings the car would wander a lot and was it hard to keep it going in a straight line.

I have a 2005 Focus and I will replace the bushings in it if the time comes using the same kit from Prothane.
