Not being an expert on car computers I was not fully familiar with all of the code types that exist. After purchase, I discovered it does not read all types of codes (anti-lock brakes for example). It is good for the "check engine" light situations and the battery keeps the code displayed after disconnecting from the vehicle. There is a good basic definition of the code but it may be necessary to do some further online checking to specifically pinpoint the exact component causing the problem (just like most others). I like that the cable can be disconnected from the device which helps extend cable life by not having a constant bend when wrapped and stored. The overall size of the device may give a feeling of getting alot but I bet it could easily be made more compact for storage and more comfortable to hold. I like that the manual does not have 7 languages to page through but do not like that it covers 4 different models rather than being specific to the model I purchased.

Again, not being an expert, I still have things to learn about operating the device and some of its features. Perhaps I will revise this evaluation after further use.
