I have used this item on a 6 days, 3000 mile trip. Plugged it in the car and at night in a 120v outlet with the converter I purchased, made by Schumacher for an extra 17$.
I haven`t had any troubles at all. But...The fan inside cannot be totally blocked nor the air intake on outside.
The items were already cold when placed inside.
The only con was with the 12o to 12v converter and it is a big one:
I purchased their 120 to 12v converter, plugged the fridge in but the connection between the two (where the fridge plugs into the 120v converter, is not tight and a slight movement and it comes unplugged. Unnoticed it would stopped running and you would have spoiled food in the morning).
You would think that a company that specializes in 12 volts products, one that is made to go with their refrigerators would engineer it to fit without falling out... Kind of like Mr coffee that makes terrible coffee.
The fridge itself is fine, be careful with the handle...Yes, it can break.
